About the Kensington/Windsor Terrace CSA

  • We are a volunteer-run group that works with the Garden of Eve Farm—an organic, biodynamic farm on the north fork of Long Island—to deliver fresh, local food to the Kensington and Windsor Terrace neighborhoods.
  • We welcome new members every year! Shares are available until they're sold out at the Garden of Eve Farm CSA website. Typically, membership is open from about February to May for the summer share. Winter share runs from December to May.
  • We are a farm share. Members sign up for "shares" of the farm's bounty at the beginning of each season. Membership is a commitment throughout the season, and members pay up front for the share. Committing to the farm for a whole season provides much-needed stability to support a small family farm. Learn more about CSAs and the CSA model at Local Harvest.
  • Members are expected to work for one volunteer shift every year. It is through this cooperative volunteer force that we're able to offer shares with low overhead.
  • During the summer season, members enroll for either Wednesday (4:30-6:30PM) or Saturday (10:30AM-12:00PM) pickups at the East 4th Street Community Garden between Fort Hamilton Parkway and Caton Avenue.
  • Summer season (the main season) runs from June to November. Members can choose to pick up every week or every other week. Pickup dates are listed on the Garden of Eve Farm website: http://gardenofevefarm.com/csa.htm
  • Winter shares, which have a separate sign-up from the main season, pick up monthly from December to May outside of Brooklyn Commune on Prospect Avenue.
  • All Garden of Eve produce and eggs are certified organic. Other add-ons are local and responsibly grown.
  • Please see the Garden of Eve website for what's in a typical share, which changes throughout the growing season. Beyond vegetables, there are a few "add-ons" like eggs, fruit, and flowers that members can purchase for an additional fee.
